Screen Share

Moses Seitler, the founder of this charity, has written a short summary of the charity below:

Screen Share is the UK's leading refugee digital inclusion charity. We provide laptops, phones, tablets, internet connectivity and digital skills training to those seeking sanctuary in the UK - so they can access education, employment and get their lives back on track.

"We partner with large corporates such as Slaughter and May and Goldman Sachs to convert used IT Assets into life-changing tools. The evidence for this intervention is compelling - the impact of refugee support depends on digital inclusion.

Funds collected will be spent on hardware to refurbish the devices and extend their lives, such as new batteries and screens. The donation will also fund their corporate partnership work - identifying and partnering with companies who can offer IT Assets and staff time to support the digital journeys of refugees in the UK.

You can get involved by donating your laptop or phone, volunteering as a digital skills teacher or encouraging your employer to do both. Thank you."

The notion of digital exclusion is not one I was fully aware of, but is a serious barrier to integration into the country for refugees and asylum seekers. You can read more personal statements from the impact of technology on people's lives here

The final point is one I want to stress though. If you have old laptops or phones lying around your house that could be repaired and used, please get in touch with me and I'll pass on to Moses. Similarly, if you think your company could help in providing old tech to the charity, please reach out.

We gave £342.81 to Screen Share in January 2025.
