About UNITED24
UNITED24 is a platform for fundraising launched by President Zelensky in response to the war in Ukraine. They collect funds from all around the world, divert it to numerous pots (defence, humanitarian demining, medical aid, rebuild Ukraine, and education and science) and work with local charities/NGOs/partners in those areas. One of these is the Kakhovka Dam disaster, which is precisely where we've decided to allocate the money.
When researching charities operating around Kherson and the Kakhovka Dam, it's been harder than usual to ensure legitimacy and efficiency. A lot of charities are new, have little information or documentation online, and may not have shared updates for a number of weeks. They might be incredibly valuable and efficient, but without the means to ensure that, we don't want to commit your money to them.
Where did the money go?
UNITED24's program focuses on supporting rescue operations for affected residents. They've been buying lifeboats, excavators and cranes, firefighting gear, diving gear, as well as water filtration systems for those affected by the water shortages. Needs may change as time goes on, but for now they're claiming that these are the most important items needed in the aftermath.
Amount Given
