About Hackney Night Shelter

I found out about Hackney Night Shelter through my work. We volunteer with them every quarter - which is something I'm exploring for members of Tithe - and help cook meals, serve meals, and talk to guests. They're a wonderful charity who both provide a safe place to sleep and hot meals, but more importantly, try and help people out of their situation.

Where did the money go? 

Advocate workers help guests access medical treatment and legal and financial counsel. They'll also help secure move-on accommodation in different housing options (private rented accommodation, supported housing, migrant hosting services and some council accommodation). Some are reconnected with their families after rebuilding relationships that had broken down. Other money is used for more simple purposes - bus passes, new ID papers, toiletries, etc.
